Non-Credit Data and Services

ScanGuard can provide various non-credit data reports and monitoring alerts, which can be configured individually by Service configuration or by Client. Each of the following Services must have an initial baseline report, and monitoring can be configured by each individual data type. An initial report is required for monitoring for allScanGuard non-credit data sources. The following describes the Services:


CyberAgent® isScanGuard’s proprietary Internet surveillance technology that monitors activity on the Internet to see if personal information is being traded and/or sold online.ScanGuard’s CyberAgent® searches networks, chat rooms, and websites worldwide for stolen identity credentials, finding Subscriber data regardless of nationality or location.

At any point in time,ScanGuard’s CyberAgent® technology is monitoring thousands of websites and millions of data points and alerting registered Subscribers ifScanGuard finds their personal information being bought or sold online. When compromised data is identified, bots are triggered to grab full identity strings. This unique data is then collected and stored byScanGuard. Once a match with aScanGuard Subscriber is found,ScanGuard delivers the Subscriber an alert of the matched elements or identity string.

CyberAgent® Subscribers may submit the following elements to be monitored:

  • 1 Social Security number
  • 1 Driver’s license number
  • 1 Passport number
  • 10 Email addresses
  • 10 Telephone numbers
  • 10 Medical ID numbers
  • 10 Credit/Debit card numbers
  • 10 Bank Account numbers
  • 10 Retail Credit Cards
  • 10 International Bank Account Number (IBAN)
  • 1 National Identification Number

    Supported National Identifiers include:

    • Australia - Tax File Number
    • Brazil - Cadastro de Pessoas Fisicas
    • Canada - Social Insurance Number
    • Italy - Codice Fiscale
    • UK - National Insurance Number

The CyberAgent® database is updated on a daily basis.

Court Records

ScanGuard’s Court Records reports and monitoring Services search criminal and court records to determine if the Subscriber’s identity has been used by any unauthorized individuals. The Service is based on the Subscriber’s First Name, Last Name and Date of Birth and offers them insight into criminal claims filed. When the fields are matched,ScanGuard sends the Subscriber an alert notifying the Subscriber of a change and the details in the Court Records report are made available. The Court Records database is updated on a monthly basis.

Non-Credit or “Pay-Day” Loan

ScanGuard’s Non-Credit Loan Services alert Subscribers if and when loans have been acquired using his or her Social Security Number. When a match is found,ScanGuard sends an alert and the details of the report are made available. The Non-Credit Loan Service reports reveal quick-cash loans associated with a Subscriber’s information. The “Pay Day” Loan database is updated on a weekly basis.

Change of Address

ScanGuard’s Change of Address Service reports and monitors if and when an enrolled Subscriber’s mail has been redirected through USPS. The match is based on Subscriber’s First Name, Last Name, Address, City, State, Zip Code and Date of Birth. The Change of Address database is queried and data is made available on a weekly basis.

Social Security Trace

ScanGuard’s Social Security Number Trace Service provides a report of all names, aliases and addresses associated with a Subscriber’s Social Security Number. Detection of both synthetic identity fraud and true name identity fraud is included in the report as well as a mapped view providing them with a location of all identities. The Social Security Number Trace database is updated on a monthly basis.

Sex Offender

ScanGuard’s Sex Offender alerts and reports enable Subscribers to discover and monitor registered sex offenders living in their neighborhood. Using registries from all 50 states, Washington D.C, Puerto Rico and Guam, notifications are sent when a sex offender is living in a Subscriber’s immediate area based on the address provided by the Subscriber. In addition, alerts and reports are enabled for detection of when a sex offender registers under a different name but uses the Subscriber’s address. The Sex Offender database is updated on a monthly basis.

Bank Account Takeover and Credit Card Application Monitoring

Bank Account Takeover and Credit Card Application Monitoring will allow Subscribers to monitor for questionable activity in demand deposit accounts and credit card applications, such as:

  • New deposit account applications
  • New deposit account opened
  • Changes made to deposit account holder’s personal information
  • New signers added to account
  • Credit card applications

When unusual or high risk information is detected, this Service generates notifications that are sent directly to the Subscriber. This database is updated on a daily basis.

These alerts require that each Subscriber must pass Credit Authentication before the Subscriber may access his or her alerts. The Subscriber receives an online authentication quiz upon enrollment or during upgrade into Bank Account Takeover and Credit Card Application Monitoring Services. The quiz generates up to 5 multiple choice questions based on information found in the Subscriber’s credit bureau file. These questions may include address, employer, and account information, such as account balances, credit limits, and open dates for a particular account. The Subscriber receives two attempts to pass the online authentication quiz. If the Subscriber fails both attempts, the Subscriber must perform manual authentication with a member services agent prior to viewing any Bank Account Takeover and Credit Card Application Monitoring alerts.

Social Network Monitoring

The social network monitoring Service allows Subscribers to monitor their social network profiles (Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, and Instagram) for any privacy and reputational risks. In the event that privacy risks occur with respect to a Subscriber’s information, this Service will alert the Subscriber in those cases where these social networks are sharing personal information on the public web, which can be used in a harmful manner by an identity thief. The disclosure can emanate from a Subscriber’s profile information, as well as comments and wall posts containing personal information, such as addresses, DOB’s, etc. The Service also alerts Subscribers regarding potential reputational risks. These alerts are sent when content is identified within a Subscriber’s social network profile that may damage the Subscriber’s reputation, which may include several different categories of potentially damaging content such as foul language, sexual content, drug and alcohol references, etc. This can help the Subscriber avoid sharing public facing content that could damage a person’s reputation. The Social Network Monitoring database is updated every 72 hours.

Full Service Identity Restoration

ScanGuard’s Full-Service Identity Restoration service provides compromised Subscribers with a certified identity theft restoration specialist to provide full-service identity restoration. Full-Service Identity Restoration Services includes:

  • A certified identity theft restoration specialist assigned to identity fraud victims to provide full-service identity restoration over the duration of the case
  • Use of a specialized limited power of attorney to work on the Subscriber’s behalf to restore the identity case, which frees them from that burden
  • Interactive dispute letters to creditors and government agencies
  • Interactive dispute letters to credit bureaus
  • Interactive identity theft affidavit

Lost Wallet

ScanGuard’s Lost Wallet Services provide Subscribers protection for personally identifiable information that has been compromised. Services include:

  • Protection for credit cards, debit/ATM cards, checkbooks, driver’s licenses, Social Security cards, insurance cards, passports, military identification cards, traveler’s checks and Medicare/Medicaid identification
  • Support from restoration specialists in canceling and reissuing documents due to lost or stolen wallet or identity documents and information compromised outside of the lost wallet event
  • Identity Theft Insurance (U.S. Residents)
  • Identity Theft Insurance will reimburse Subscribers residing in the Territory for certain ancillary expenses associated with restoring their identity should they become a victim of identity theft after such Subscriber is properly enrolled. The Company has been issued a policy that covers eligible expenses for up to $1,000,000, with no deductible, from an A.M. Best “A-rated” carrier, subject to the terms, limits and/or exclusions of the policy. The insurance policy issued toScanGuard will reimburse the Subscriber for certain reimbursable expenses in accordance with the policy’s terms. Subscribers must make claims for reimbursement in accordance with the terms and condition of the policy, which claims procedure and other delivery requirements will be mutually agreed to by the parties and conducted in accordance with the terms of the policy and applicable state insurance law and regulations.
